Shipping to Canada: Cost, Currency and Delivery Time
Buying a wireless CarPlay adapter from a store outside Canada usually raises three questions: what does shipping cost, what currency am I charged in, and how long will it take? Here is what our shipping policy says for Carlinkit Canada orders.
What you pay at checkout
- Shipping: free to Canada.
- Currency: prices are shown and charged in CAD, so you don’t have to guess the exchange rate.
- Duties and taxes: our policy states that “Import duties, taxes, and related customs fees may apply upon the arrival of your order at its final destination.” The policy adds that these charges “are determined by your local customs office.”
Tip: If your credit card charges a foreign-transaction fee, paying in CAD is usually the cleaner option. Check your card’s terms before you buy.
How long delivery takes
- Processing: “please allow us 1–3 business days to process it.”
- Shipping: delivery time to Canada is the same as to the US. The current estimate is listed on our shipping policy page.
- Tracking: you get a tracking number within 1–2 business days after the shipping notification. Tracking can take another 1–3 days to start updating, so a blank status on day one is normal.

“For USA & Canada” Versions: Do You Need One?
Short answer: only if you are buying an AI box with a SIM slot.
- Plug-in adapters (Mini Ultra, Mini SE Pro, 4.0, 5.0) have no regional versions. Their product pages offer no regional version option, so there is no separate Canadian version to pick.
- AI boxes with cellular data are different. The Tbox Ultra 2 page (currently shown as sold out) offers a “Global Version (Not US&CA)” and a “US&CA Version”. If a product page shows both options, choose US&CA Version for a Canadian car. Our guide to the European and American versions explains the difference in more detail.
- For the Max Ultra AI Box, the product page says: “North America (US/Canada): 5G not yet supported—runs on 4G LTE, compatible with all major carriers.” The SIM is optional. You can also use your phone’s hotspot or in-car Wi-Fi.
Using Your Adapter in a Canadian Winter
Canadian winters are hard on car electronics, so it’s fair to ask how an adapter handles sub-zero mornings. Here is what we can confirm today:
- Carlinkit’s product pages do not publish an operating temperature range.
- The Carlinkit 5.0 page mentions side ventilation openings to prevent overheating. That design is for heat, not cold.

If you switch between an iPhone and an Android phone
Choose a dual-mode model such as the Mini Ultra or 5.0 (2air). The Mini Ultra page lists iPhone 6 and above with iOS 10 and above, plus Android 11.0 and above.
If you drive a Tesla
Standard adapters exclude Tesla. The T2C 2.0 is built specifically to add wireless CarPlay to a Tesla.

Returns and Exchanges from Canada
Returning a product from Canada follows the same steps as any other order:
- Request a return within 30 days of receiving your order. Email service@carlinkitfactory.com.
- Wait for your RMA email. It includes your RMA label and the return address. Returns without an RMA are refused.
- Pack the item in its original packaging with all accessories. Scratched or damaged items, or items without the original box, can’t be accepted. Missing accessories are deducted from the refund.
- Get your refund within 7 business days after we receive and approve the return.
Who pays? If you simply change your mind, you can still return it within 30 days. You pay the return shipping, and a restocking fee is deducted. If we sent a damaged or wrong item, we cover return shipping and no restocking fee applies.
